Over the 30 years I have been involved within the fitness and military industries, I have excelled in sports such as Athletics..(800/1500 for the Army/Corps), Cross-Country for the Army, Badminton (Army/Combined Services/Corps/Gwent), Boxing (Corps), Cricket (Corps), Skiing-Cross Country (Army), Rugby Union (Corps Squad)..

Known as 'Mr Sit-Ups' and 'Mr Press-Ups' amongst many other nicknames by my counterparts I have always been fiercely competitive, very self-driven, I don't like to lose, the only time I concede defeat in a gracious manner is when I know I have been beaten by the better person, that is something that has kept me at the top of my game for all of these years...finally all of the stamina exploits I have done over the years has left me with a degenerated neck problem which will eventually end up with me having neuro surgery in later years but this doesn't stop me from searching for more records to break, and one not involving the neck as much!!!

  • Thank you my prestigious client and fellow pupil..Only a small handful has ever got the better of me over my illustrious career...proud to say no-one has ever beaten me in a sit-ups or press-ups head to head challenge since 1992, and trust me as you well do i've beaten the other world's best...and no-one has got anywhere near my world records, that's why my nickname has always been throughout the stamina and endurance world as Mr Fitness...:)

  • I have decided to go for a new world best for the most number of Tricep Dips in One Hour, the challenges on here has given me the incentive to go for it...I have set a mean standard on here, and as long as I retain my fiercely competitive drive it will take a superhuman effort to dethrone me in the challenges i've done, and will have to bust a gut to do so as Andy Weaver will undoubtedably vouch... • Pikey, thank you for the great words but I have a few things going well and truly against me....A neck problem which i'm sorry I keep going on about, my C4,5, and 6 are all buggered up and will have to endure neuro surgery in years to come, all of this from my years of competing at the very highest level, so I have to be selective in the exercises I can do, if it wasn't for that i'd smash the press ups total and easily!!...no disrespect to the great athletes on here but I hold the one hour 'full press ups' record of just under 2 and half thousand, and that has stood since 1995.. and the other thing against me is age, I have managed to get my timing much better since I turned 40 and have broken more stamina records over the past decade than what I had before that...I am thoroughly enjoying the site, and the competitiveness shown throughout is tremendous, from Worthster to Bear, Stevie to Sylvester, ThomVaugh to Sbaguru...yourself to Jen Mitchell, Jane Taylor and the list goes on...each one is great in my eyes.. this site is a credit to the fitness industry...Keep up the great work Pikey and look forward to your vids.. • Heart rate does not surprise me given your running and other endurance achievements. You should be able to take the top spot on this website in a few months if you try 80% of the events. Good luck.
by AndyWeaver on 4/16/2012 7:22:00 PM

  • I took part in the Resting Heart Rate Challenge first thing this morning, smashed the top spot, my HR was 36BPM, which is about the norm for me, always has been for a long period of time. I know there are going to be many doubters, but honestly I have always been between the 34-42 range, top professional cyclists are known to have heart rates in their 20's to very low 30's...Mine is from a background of cross country skiing, and martial arts training, have had advice from a japanese grandmaster on how to control the breathing and also how to bring the HR right down even when competing, this is why my sit-up and press-up records are over the one hour, I can regulate and bring my HR down to a crazy level when performing them. • Hi David, tough one to call, any tricep dips are going to put excessive strain on the wrists over time. I have done tricep and parallel dips for near on 30 years now, and the 180's are by far the hardest in the book, no doubts at all..What I do in my workouts to ensure that my wrist is tough enough for these type of exercises is to wear neoprene weight training gloves to protect the wrist joint, and then I do some slow concentrated wrist curls. If it's causing you extreme pain then don't do it, you have to protect it mate. Thank you for sending me the friend request, and look forward to seeing some of your video challenges..Keep up the great work.. (10/04/2012 07:57 AM)

    by GedMustoNumber1 on 4/10/2012 7:49:00 AM

  • Thank you so much for the kind words Brad, what a compliment and I am most humbled..as you have probably seen my forte is definitely Sit-Ups and Press Ups, my WR's have stood now for nearly 20 years, my neck problem has stopped me from doing the more difficult challenges...I have nothing at all to prove on this site, my stamina and endurance records are part of the folklore within the industry..I'm going to be selective as to the exercises I can do, but one thing is certain when I get it right then it'll take a superhuman effort to overtake me..Please pass on my name to others who haven't seen my profile...Keep up the great work and just do your best...Ged Musto.
