Medicine Ball Circles

Medicine Ball Circles

Take a medicine ball roughly the size of a bowling ball (mine was 12 pounds or about 5 kilo) palm it from the top and swing it around your body switching hands in the front and rear as you circle. The goal is to keep a steady rythim while keeping your hand on top or the side, not the bottom of the ball. It's tough to keep the grip as you keep going. I will adjust score for body weight and medicine ball weight. (75/e1)*(e2/5)*(e3) e1=body weight in kilograms e2=weight of medicine ball in...   more details

Ged, you have definitely been an inspiration. Would have been happy with 100 had you not kept posting big numbers. by AndyWeaver on 5/20/2012 10:34:47 PM

  • profile pic Thanks Ged, at this point I know we are both capable of more. Definitely tape your thumbs and fingers. I will have to tape upper thumb as well next time. The texture of the ball tears up skin on an endourance challenge. This would be a great head to head live challenge if we were in the same area. I could see a couple hours in such a challenge. by AndyWeaver on 5/20/2012 8:44:00 PM

I feel for you on the blisters, keeps you from doing other things which sucks. Another great job. by AndyWeaver on 5/20/2012 7:31:30 PM

  • profile pic Truly Outstanding Andy, this is a true head to head challenge of the highest order...I will be back, write me off at your peril...;) being a former British x-training champion I love the thrill of a challenge..no disrespect to the other competitors but we are the top two when it comes down to long distance challenges...this could end up being a 45 minute to hour challenge...:) massive well done again... by GedMustoNumber1 on 5/20/2012 6:45:00 PM

  • profile pic Just looked at another Medicine Ball video on youtube and it said this is Therapeutic!!!....Yeah...right, sheer pain, blisters and mental torture comes to mind...;) well that's what me and Andy think of it... by GedMustoNumber1 on 5/18/2012 8:22:00 AM

  • profile pic There is no champions at this time with this one Andy...we have both taken this to new limits well beyond the norm and we are both champions!!!...plain and simple...:) by GedMustoNumber1 on 5/17/2012 3:40:00 PM

  • profile pic BTW thinking of an out there challenge. We generally do some 35+ reps a minute, what about running a 5k while doing the circles with a minimum of 20 reps a minute. Wonder if I could possibly break 20 minutes for 5k while doing this? And yes I am a bit of a lunatic. If I do it I will do it around a tack so someone can record it. May test it with a mile and see if I can break 6:30. by AndyWeaver on 5/17/2012 3:11:00 PM

  • profile pic Extraordinary effort Ged. Watching I totally remember the pain in the thums as the blisters develop and had the same issue eating a little stuck in the rear handoff trying to make that part of the handoff as painless as possible. I am toughening up my thumbs and will attempt 1001 this weekend which will be about 30 minutes, It's a mental exercise now. Looking forward to more competition. I had to lay off weights and pull ups for a week after this because of blisters but will suffer through one more time. Once again well done Ged, champion for now :) by AndyWeaver on 5/17/2012 3:00:00 PM

  • profile pic Andy done a truly astonishing 501...yes 501...phenominal effort and trust me it's not that often I have to concede defeat but on this occasion I gave in..Me and Andy up to that point had a titanic battle as with the KB Figure of 8's, the lead just kept changing, I done 193 but was on to a score of 250-300 plus when the ball dropped out of my hands.. by GedMustoNumber1 on 5/16/2012 7:54:00 AM

  • profile pic how many did you do to get that score andy? by PersonTrainer on 5/16/2012 6:54:00 AM

  • profile pic My arms are still raw after doing the push-ups...What you done Andy was absolutely remarkable and if it wasn't for the blisters you would have gone on to much greater numbers..I may give this another try but it won't be for some time yet...Well Done again my friend, I notice no others are even trying to compete against us, the numbers are bloody ridiculous, and that in a way must be massive respect to us both... by GedMustoNumber1 on 5/7/2012 8:24:00 AM

  • profile pic Ged you got me pumped up with the crazy number of push ups you have done. After two day being sick with a fever and missing my long run, I was rested and ready. Got the two handled ball and went for it. Bad blisters on both thumbs but I nailed it. by AndyWeaver on 5/7/2012 12:21:00 AM

  • profile pic Thank you Andy, your figure of 8's was one of the truly phenominal stamina videos I have ever seen, in a way I was watching the younger me in terms of competitive drive and sheer determination...as with me in the challenge, you were the inspiration to me going that extra mile, before the bleeding ball dropped out of my grasp I felt as though I was well on the way to 250-300...haven't felt that focussed in ages... by GedMustoNumber1 on 5/2/2012 9:02:00 PM
