New Year Resolution - The January Body and Mind Detox challenge

2011 is almost upon us, what better time to get yourself in the best physical and mental health of your life?? By signing up to this one month challenge you are committing yourself to an amazing achievement. You also have a commitment to your fellow competitors to encourage and motivate them to incredible feats. Please note, this is not for the weak of mind and body, so if that's you go do something easy! If you want to change your mental and physical health, stick with me!! It is important to keep a journal of each day of the month, recording how you feel, what you eat, what exercises you complete and, most importantly, your scores for this challenge! Obviously you will not be able to enter any scores until the start of February, but by joining this challenge you are planting the first footsteps of an epic journey. Prepare to feel great!!! Please enter regular bulletins of how you are doing on the challenge wall - and encourage your fellow challengers. NOTE: DON'T FORGET TO TAKE A PHOTO / VIDEO BEFORE AND AFTER THE MONTH, AS THIS WILL BE RATED AND FORM PART OF YOUR FINAL SCORE TOTAL. Finally, don't forget to detox your full body - otherwise you might just end up looking like the lady in the video :) (Ed. - Sorry!)

Event 1: No. of days without consuming your 'bad' food
Choose a food which you eat on a regularly basis, but which you know is particularly bad for your health. This could be foods such as chocolates, biscuits, sweets, pastries etc. If you manage to abstain from eating this chosen food for the whole of January entire 31 (days). If you do not manage the full month enter the number of continuous days to manage to avoid this food.

Event 2: No. of days without acting on a negative thought
Enter the number of continuous days you manage to go without having a negative thought on which you dwell/act. Confused? - The goal is to go as many continuous days as possible without dwelling on a negative thought for more than 30 seconds at a time. In other words refuse to let any negative thoughts linger in your mind longer than 30 seconds. BEWARE, this is the hardest event of all! If you avoid negative thoughts* for the entire month of January, enter 31 days (this is the maximum score). If you do not manage the full month, enter the number of continuous days you have achieved.

Event 3: No. of days without alcohol
Enter the number of continuous days you manage to not drink alcohol (of any kind) for. If you avoid drinking alcohol for the entire month of January, enter 31 days (this is the maximum score). If you do not manage the full month, enter the number of continuous days you have achieved.

Event 4: No. of days you complete 100 press-ups
Enter the number of days in the month which you manage to complete 100 press-ups. The 100 press-ups do not need to be completed at the same time, for example you may want to do 50 in the morning and 50 at night. Again, the maximum possible score for this event is 31 (days).

Event 5: Rate my before and after photo / video
Take a photo or video of yourself before the 01st January, and one at the end of the month. Post these and let the public decide how your appearance has changed. Rate 5 for 'an amazing transformation' to 1 for 'you look worse than when you started!'.
