The Soldier Challenge:
ABF The Soldiers' Charity is running a money-raising urban adventure challenge dubbed The Soldier Challenge in central London on 26 March 2011.
Squads, or teams, of 2-4 people from all walks of life will compete in a high-adrenalin set of 35 challenges across the capital, including the chance to access major military landmarks in a way never normally available - such as an obstacle course in the moat at the Tower of London - all related to the skills required to be first-class soldier.
Inspired by the Soldier Challenge, the Rat Race Urban Gym has created Konkura challenges for you to test your fitness.
This challenge is a whole body workout you can do on the street, in the park or in your garden. Simply do the following set of exercises as fast as you can, and post your overall time to the challenge leaderboard:
1. 25 street bench press ups (women perform these with a split stance)
2. 50 squat jumps
3. 50 street bench tricep dips (women perform these with bent knees)
4. 50 street bench crunches - sitting on the bench long ways, feet off the bench
5. 50 alternate leg plyometric lunges (women perform these without the jump)
6. 50 street bench horizontal pull ups - standing behind the bench hold the back of the seat with both hands, place your legs under the bench extend the arms and then pull yourself up keeping your back straight as you can
7. 25 street bench press ups (women perform these with a split stance)
So what are you waiting for? Prove your fitness by videoing your entry and posting the video when you add your score, so everyone can check out your performance.
